The burden of scars
One of those days full of signals for help and constant thinking over what exactly we can do in every single case added another member to our family. This is how another abused dog came to our care: Early in the morning the police called us and said there was a call to urgent line 112 for a dog stabbed with a knife. We immediately started looking for ways to transport the dog to the clinic, without knowing any details. Fortunately, a girl responded right away – Tatyana Todorova – and the dog was brought to the clinic.
First we thought he was used in dog fights. Then, when we saw the scars, we almost rejected that option.
The dog seemed exactly as if being cut with a knife, on the whole length from the head to the end of the chest, but on the side of the back. The wound is fresh where there is obviously biggest resistance. His whole body is covered with numerous small and big wounds, some of them still not healed. The boy is limping so we had to make X – rays photos, but they showed only a swelling of the hip joint, nothing serious so far. He just walks a little twisted, but this will change with time. The skin samples and Dirofilaria test are negative, thank God. An antibiotic and check – up are assigned. Justice’s condition is relatively stable. We don’t even want to think about what happened to him. Weather he’s been systematically abused, beaten… We refused to guess anymore; when they come to us our eyes see only in the future.
We are on the second phase and that is finding a foster home. We constantly checked and rejected options because we had no idea how this handsome boy will behave with other dogs. Yulia Balevska – Pantova came to our rescue; we are very, very grateful to her! She is giving him the best cares and feeds him with lots of delicious things, but unfortunately he cannot stay with her for more than few days. We need to find this handsome boy a home! If you recognize your friend in this really friendly and calm boy, we will be happy to introduce him to you 🙂 He is perfect in a car and he was definitely domestic. Typical for the breed – such a spoilt buddy!
