The useless shepherd
“Hello, my name is Bobo.
Or at least they call me so. Some girls came to me and told me they would help me and want to tell my story. But I don’t have much to say; nothing special happened in my life. They asked how old I was but I couldn’t say. What I know is that I spent 7 years herding goats in the fields but there are no more goats anymore, no more fields. There is only a chain, a barrel for a house and a four – legged fluffy boy which they call tomcat and he keeps fooling around my feet and steels my food.
I lived chained before, it’s nothing new, but at least they paid more attention to me back then. I went out herding the goats and saw something more than the short chain. I have been staying alone for a year now and keep wondering where I did wrong. I must have done something wrong because there are two more dogs around me; small dogs. They call them mix. They use some strange words when they enjoy and cuddle them – Pekingese and Pomeranian. I try so hard to look like them so that humans enjoy me too but apparently I haven’t deserved to roam freely in the yard and get warm by the fire inside as they have. Ohhh, if only I knew where I did wrong! I can’t figure it out, but what I can sense – they don’t want me anymore; nobody wants me anymore.
But the girls who came to visit me and asked for me gave me some pills and my tummy doesn’t hurt anymore; and they also sprinkled me with something and I don’t feel itchy anymore. They said they would take me in a month and would introduce me to other dogs. And, ohhhh! They said I would never see a chain again! They are so kind; they call me grandpa. They cuddled me, caressed me and told me about some sofas and places where I would live warm. But I am warm now too, during the summer. I am so warm that I prefer to be cold because my barrel gets too hot during the summer… But they didn’t hear me; they talked to each other and they talked to me. And I felt so light and well. I want to see them again. And I want to see those things they told me about.”
Bobo is about 8 – 9 years old. Middle sized. He gets along well with other dogs and with cats too.
